Verified Checkout & Payment Setup
Overview
Verified Checkout is ReefnBid’s secure, one-time payment setup that lets you bid comfortably. Your shipping and payment details are processed securely by Stripe, never stored by ReefnBid or sellers, and only used when you win. This streamlined, industry-standard flow helps make bidding smooth and trustworthy.
Starting September 1, 2025, Verified Checkout will be required for all bidding.
Why Verified Checkout?
Once you're verified, you don’t have to do anything else—just bid freely. Payment only occurs after seller confirmation, and sellers cannot change the winning bid price.
How It Works
1. Before Bidding — Get Verified
- Add shipping and payment details in Account Overview.
- Securely processed by our payment provider Stripe, and ReefnBid and sellers never store or see your card details.
2. After You Win
- Auction is marked Won and an order is created with the status of Processing.
- Multiple wins are combined into one order for shipping.
3. Seller Confirmation
- Seller reviews your order before charging your card.
- Payment is securely processed only after seller confirmation, like closing a tab at a bar.
4. Shipping Date
- Can be updated during bidding or after winning. Defaults to the seller’s next available date if not set.
5. After Payment
- You receive an payment confirmation email.
- Seller ships the order on the preferred ship date, and order status updates to Fulfilled.
Important:
By setting up Verified Checkout and placing a bid, you accept and agree to our Terms and Conditions, which cover payment obligations, shipping expectations, and dispute resolution.
How to Get Verified
- Log in to your ReefnBid account.
- Go to Account Overview.
- Add your shipping and payment details once.
- Save — you’re verified and ready to bid. After this, no further action is required unless you win.
