Payment Issues & How to Fix Them

Even with Verified Checkout, payments can occasionally fail. Keeping your card details up to date ensures you can continue bidding without interruptions.

Common Causes of Payment Failure:

• Card expired
• Insufficient funds
• Bank declined the charge for security reasons
• Incorrect billing info

What Happens When a Payment Fails:

• You must fix your payment method before you can place any new bids.
• Sellers are not obligated to hold your winning auctions while payment issues remain unresolved.
• Once your payment method is successfully re-verified, we immediately charge the affected order, even if the items are no longer available, since sellers aren’t obligated to hold items during a payment failure.

How to Fix:

1. Go to Account Overview.
2. Update your card information or add a new card.
3. Contact your bank if the issue persists and re-try.
