Setting Shipping Rates & Dates

Summary:

As a seller, you must set your shipping rates and shipping days during onboarding. These settings apply to all your orders and help buyers know when to expect their items.

Default Shipping Rate

  • Enter your default shipping rate per order (e.g., $50).
  • This is the standard amount charged to buyers for shipping unless a special rate applies.

Shipping Days

  • Choose the days of the week you ship orders (e.g., Mon–Wed).
  • By default, orders ship on the next available shipping day after the auction ends.
  • Buyers can request a different date in their order preferences, but only on the days you’ve made available.

Geographical Special Rates (Optional)

  • You can set discounted shipping rates for specific states.
  • Example: Offer lower rates for nearby states like New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut.
  • Enter the special rate and select the states it applies to.

In-Store Free Pickup

  • Enable this option if you allow buyers to pick up items in person at no charge.
  • Be sure to clearly state your pickup location and instructions in your Seller Policy.

Why It Matters

  • Shipping rates and dates are displayed in your listings, so buyers know costs and timing before bidding.
  • Accurate shipping settings reduce disputes and improve buyer confidence.
  • These settings are required before you can start listing products.
