Canceling Bids & Orders
Can I Cancel a Bid?
When you place a bid in an auction, you are entering into a binding agreement to purchase the item if you win. For this reason, bids cannot be freely canceled once submitted.
Exceptions
In very limited circumstances, a cancellation of bids may be possible:
- If you made a clear bidding mistake (e.g., entered $500 instead of $50).
- If the seller agrees to cancel the transaction.
- If the item was misrepresented by the seller.
Please note: Financial hardship or “changed mind” reasons are not valid grounds for canceling.
What Happens After Winning?
With Verified Checkout, all won items are processed by the seller. Buyers do not need to complete checkout or take further action.
If a cancellation is requested and approved, the seller will handle it directly. Repeated requests for cancellation may affect your account reputation.
Best Practices
- Only place bids you are prepared to honor.
- Double-check your bid amount before submitting.
- Use the watchlist feature if you’re interested but not fully committed.
By bidding, you agree to these terms and to honor the outcome of the auction.
